Terms of service

Effective date: 30 September 2026

Welcome to PeerNest. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the PeerNest website, platform, services, mentorship sessions, events, communities, college-discovery features and related services.

By creating an account, accessing PeerNest, booking a service, registering for an event or otherwise using the platform, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use PeerNest.

1. About PeerNest

PeerNest is an early-stage student platform currently operated by Nitanth Mouli MM and Srujana Gandla (together, the “Operators”), pending formal incorporation of the business. In these Terms, “PeerNest”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the platform and its current Operators, as applicable.

2. Eligibility

You must provide accurate information when creating or using an account.

If you are below the age at which you can legally enter into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction, you may use PeerNest only with the consent or supervision required by applicable law.

Certain services, events or mentorship programs may have additional eligibility requirements.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity performed through your account.

You agree to:

  • provide accurate and current account information;
  • keep your login credentials secure;
  • not impersonate another person;
  • not create accounts for fraudulent, abusive or misleading purposes; and
  • notify PeerNest if you believe your account has been compromised.

PeerNest may suspend, restrict or disable accounts where reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, policy enforcement or legal compliance.

4. Student, Mentor and Administrative Roles

PeerNest may provide different account roles, including students, mentors, administrators and authorized internal team members.

Access to certain platform functionality depends on your assigned role.

You must not attempt to obtain unauthorized permissions, access another user's private information or bypass PeerNest's access controls.

5. Mentors

PeerNest mentors may be students, alumni or other individuals approved to provide peer guidance through the platform.

Mentors are expected to provide information honestly and based on their own knowledge and experience.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, mentors are not acting as:

  • licensed educational counsellors;
  • admissions officers;
  • lawyers;
  • financial advisers;
  • healthcare professionals; or
  • representatives of the colleges they discuss.

Mentor opinions and experiences are personal and may not represent the official position of any institution.

PeerNest may review, approve, reject, suspend or remove mentor profiles where necessary to maintain platform quality and safety.

6. Mentorship Sessions

Users may be able to book one-to-one or group mentorship sessions.

The specific duration, price, format and availability of a session will be shown before booking where applicable.

Users and mentors must behave respectfully during sessions.

PeerNest may take action where a session involves harassment, discrimination, inappropriate conduct, fraud, threats, misuse of personal information or other violations of these Terms.

Mentorship sessions provide peer guidance and should not be treated as guarantees of admission, academic results, employment or any other particular outcome.

7. College Information

PeerNest may provide information about colleges, courses, fees, admissions, entrance examinations, campus life, placements, hostels, clubs and related topics.

We aim to provide useful and accurate information, but educational information can change frequently.

Official admission requirements, fees, deadlines, rankings, cut-offs, policies and eligibility requirements should always be verified directly with the relevant college, university, examination authority or other official source.

PeerNest does not guarantee admission to any institution.

8. College Comparisons and Recommendations

PeerNest may allow users to compare institutions or receive suggestions based on factors such as interests, academic information, marks, entrance-exam ranks, fees, location or other preferences.

Comparisons and recommendations are intended to assist research and decision-making.

They are not guarantees that a particular college is suitable for a user or that the user will receive admission.

Final educational decisions remain the responsibility of the user.

9. AI-Assisted Features

PeerNest may introduce AI-assisted tools, including features that explain college information, answer questions or help users understand available options.

AI-generated responses may contain errors, incomplete information or outdated information.

Where PeerNest uses structured or verified data, users should still confirm important admission, fee, eligibility and deadline information using official sources.

AI-generated content should not be treated as an admission decision, professional counselling service or guarantee of any outcome.

10. Events

PeerNest may organize or facilitate online or offline events, including workshops, masterclasses, AMAs, panels, competitions, hackathons and similar activities.

Individual events may have additional rules, participation requirements, schedules or fees.

PeerNest may modify, postpone or cancel events when reasonably necessary.

Applicable refund or cancellation terms will be governed by PeerNest's Refund and Cancellation Policy and any event-specific conditions displayed during registration.

11. Communities

PeerNest may provide community spaces where users can interact with other students, mentors or participants.

Users must not use PeerNest communities to:

  • harass or threaten others;
  • publish hateful or discriminatory content;
  • distribute spam;
  • promote scams or fraudulent services;
  • disclose another person's private information without permission;
  • distribute malicious software;
  • engage in illegal activity; or
  • intentionally disrupt the community.

PeerNest may moderate, restrict or remove content or accounts where reasonably necessary.

12. User Content

Users may submit profile information, reviews, comments, project information, photographs, community posts and other content.

You retain ownership of content you create.

By submitting content to PeerNest, you grant PeerNest a non-exclusive licence to host, store, process, display and use that content as reasonably necessary to operate and improve the platform.

You must only upload content that you have the right to use.

PeerNest may remove content that violates these Terms, applicable law or platform policies.

13. Reviews and Ratings

Users may be able to review mentors, events or other PeerNest services.

Reviews should reflect genuine experiences.

PeerNest may remove reviews that contain spam, harassment, fabricated information, confidential information or other prohibited content.

PeerNest does not guarantee that every submitted review will be published.

14. Payments

Certain PeerNest services may require payment.

Prices and applicable charges will be displayed before a transaction is completed.

Payment processing may be provided through Shopify, payment gateways, UPI providers or other approved payment services.

You are responsible for providing accurate payment information.

Payment disputes, cancellations and refunds are subject to the applicable Refund and Cancellation Policy.

15. Refunds and Cancellations

Refund eligibility depends on the type of PeerNest service purchased and the circumstances of the cancellation.

The detailed rules are provided in PeerNest's Refund and Cancellation Policy.

Where PeerNest cancels a paid service and an appropriate replacement or rescheduling option cannot be provided, users may be eligible for a refund as described in that policy.

16. Acceptable Use

You must not:

  • attempt to hack, disrupt or interfere with PeerNest;
  • access accounts or data without authorization;
  • scrape or systematically extract platform data without permission;
  • upload malicious code;
  • use PeerNest for fraudulent purposes;
  • manipulate reviews or ratings;
  • misrepresent your identity, qualifications or institution;
  • misuse mentor, student or administrator information;
  • reproduce significant parts of PeerNest's platform or proprietary materials without permission; or
  • use PeerNest in violation of applicable law.

17. Intellectual Property

The PeerNest name, branding, platform design, software, interfaces, original illustrations, content, databases and other proprietary materials belong to PeerNest or their respective licensors.

These Terms do not transfer ownership of PeerNest intellectual property to users.

Users may access PeerNest materials only for their personal and permitted use of the platform unless written permission is provided for another purpose.

18. Third-Party Services

PeerNest may integrate with third-party platforms such as Shopify, Supabase, payment providers, video-meeting providers, analytics services or other technology providers.

Those services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

PeerNest is not responsible for independent third-party services outside its reasonable control.

19. Availability of the Platform

We aim to keep PeerNest available and reliable, but uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed.

PeerNest may temporarily restrict access for maintenance, security updates, technical failures or improvements.

Features may be added, modified or discontinued as the platform develops.

20. Suspension and Termination

PeerNest may restrict or terminate access where a user:

  • materially violates these Terms;
  • engages in fraud or abuse;
  • threatens the safety of another person;
  • attempts unauthorized access;
  • repeatedly violates community standards; or
  • creates legal or security risks for the platform or its users.

Where appropriate, PeerNest may provide notice or an opportunity to resolve the issue.

21. Disclaimer

PeerNest provides educational discovery, peer guidance and related platform services.

While we aim to provide useful information, PeerNest does not guarantee:

  • admission to any institution;
  • academic results;
  • examination results;
  • scholarships;
  • placements or employment;
  • the accuracy of every third-party statement;
  • the outcome of mentorship sessions; or
  • the continued availability of any particular college, course, mentor or event.

Users should independently verify important information before making educational or financial decisions.

22. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, PeerNest will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising solely from the use of information, recommendations, mentor opinions or third-party services available through the platform.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

23. Privacy

PeerNest's collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

Information about cookies and similar technologies is described in our Cookie Policy.

Users can also manage optional privacy choices through the Cookie Preferences controls available on PeerNest.

24. Changes to These Terms

PeerNest may update these Terms as the platform, services or applicable laws change.

The latest version will be published on the PeerNest website with an updated effective date.

Where required, we may provide additional notice of material changes.

25. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, subject to any mandatory rights available under applicable law. Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in India, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

26. Use by Minors

PeerNest provides student-focused information and services that may be relevant to users of different ages. Parents and lawful guardians are responsible for supervising a minor’s use of PeerNest and determining whether particular services or interactions are appropriate for them.

Users must provide truthful information and must not misrepresent their age or identity. Where applicable law requires parental consent, age verification or other safeguards, PeerNest may restrict access to relevant services or introduce additional requirements.

PeerNest cannot supervise every user’s independent use of the internet or interactions outside the platform, and parents or guardians should exercise appropriate oversight.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits obligations that cannot legally be excluded.
